Wikipedia Notability

I'm not normally the kind of person who likes to brag but I think the Wikipedian definition of "notability" is wrong since the list of accomplishments of this website's founder is not insignificant. The list goes on and on. OHHLA itself would be "notable" for being a long-standing resource dating back to the web's earliest days and after such a long continous tenure online. RapReviews.com is notable for the incredible volume of quality hip-hop reviews it has resourced, not to mention interviewing artists ranging from Styles P to Twista to Sticky Fingaz and more. Given that I've been on NPR and OHHLA has been cited in numerous print articles that would also be "notable" as well. By extension you would the webmaster of that site would be notable, particularly one who is widely recognized as a hip-hop author and published reviewer, but that's another argument for another day. We're not proposing any action PER SE but you can read the deleted Wikipedia bio below and be the judge for yourself whether the deletion was appropriate.

Sincerely,
Steve 'Flash' Juon: OHHLA Webmaster

*** The deleted biographical text appears below ***

Steve "Flash" Juon is an American journalist and web master who writes about hip-hop music and culture. Juon is a regular contributor for URB Magazine, and founder of the web sites, Original Hip-Hop Lyrics Archive (ohhla.com), RapReviews.com, and AngryMarks.com.

Juon was born in Ames, Iowa on June 20, 1974. At the age of 8, Juon received a "Breakdance" tape and was introduced to the world of hip-hop music and culture. He adopted the "Flash" moniker after being inspired by the song "Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel" which appeared on the tape.

Juon created the Committee of Rap Excellence, or C.O.R.E., in 1993 and published the world's first online rap magazine, HardC.O.R.E. At the same time, Juon ran and edited a free FTP archive of rap lyrics, which, with the emergence of the world wide web, was moved to an HTML version in 1995. While in college at Iowa State University, Juon devoted himself to expanding his newly-formed web site, now given the name Original Hip-Hop Lyrics Archive, reflecting the fact that since its roots in FTP and Gopher, the archive was the first major rap resource on the internet.

Juon was also responsible for helping found the rec.music.hip-hop USENET newsgroup. Juon graduated from Iowa State University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Juon credits OHHLA's success to the fact that his web site was removed from the Iowa State University student server for excessive bandwidth use, forcing OHHLA to be continued as an independent dot com entity. Juon has since gone on to be a contributor for URB Magazine, run the successful music review site RapReviews.com, and launch a website for professional wrestling called AngryMarks.com. Juon (referred to as "Stevie J" or "DJ Flash") is also a sporadic guest host of the internet professional wrestling show Rocketbusta Radio, a show sponsored by the three websites he has founded.

Juon currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska.
